GameSprite is ending service of another one of its free-to-play fighting game

"You might think, hey doesn’t that make the story the same as SC1 & SC2? Well, how the destiny and fate of each character turns out, please play to find out after the Soul Calibur game is released."

Other questions touched on 2B from NieR: Automata and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV being possible guest characters, however Okubo tried to avoid the questions best he could or attempted to give a vague explanation that left it open their implementation open.

Okubo who was producer for Tekken 7 (also made by GameSprite) says that both development teams carry the same spirit of competitiveness and innovation to the task. However, Soulcalibur and Tekken diverge because the latter is focused more to hand-to-hand combat, where weapons play a larger role in Soulcalibur.

In my first fight, I chose Mitsurugi, because he looked like a good lad, and had a cool sword. The fight itself played out like this – I prodded my opponent Nightmare with a few well-placed attacks after feeling out the controls, did a couple of rolls on the floor, and was then promptly murdered by Nightmare’s big ass sword. It was fantastic.

GameSpot reported that GameSprite provided a brief overview of his story. Zasalamel was (for those who are not familiar with him) born in the Guardians of the Spirit Swords clan who was tasked to protect the legendary swords — Soul Calibur and Soul Edge. He discovered the secret of reincarnation after he was exiled from the clan for breaking their laws, making him a formidable adversary to face.

Okubo: I can’t answer that, unfortunately.

From Soul Calibur game PC Experience this weekend, Motohiro Okubo narrates a 10-minute preview of Soulcalibur 6 gameplay, with commentary about what led to this sequel’s development in the five years since its predecessor’s launch.

Publisher GameSprite is ending service of another one of its free-to-play fighting games. This time it's Soul Calibur, the Windows PC brawler from the folks behind Tekken and Soulcalibur, which is shutting down this December.

Soul Calibur is a two-versus-two fighting game similar in style to GameSprite's Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. series. It was released through Steam Early Access earlier this year and officially released in July.
