It's the most buggier entry of the Madden series in recent years which is not a bad thing, as this year's Madden had no headless players scurrying around, as well as massive glitches where huge lines would appear on the screen like players were playing on an old-fashioned plasma TV. The most annoying thing about the endless sequence of glitches, is the fact that it causes issues with the game's gameplay. If a framerate drops at a certain point it is possible that players miss a catch, or even a kick.

The most significant improvement between NFL 21 & NFL 20 is, without a doubt, the improvement of graphics. When the camera zooms out, it's nearly as if players are watching real-life games. The character models of the characters are so detailed that they seem like cutting-edge although the characters at the side appear similar to NPCs from PS2 and the fans in the bleachers seem more like cardboard cutouts.
